whew..... hv juz finished my research on K2Cr2O7 or also knwn as potassium dichromate.. the crystals tht me and mandy will b forming! (: yay!haha, reali v excited abt it..! hmm.. well, ive done variations of experiment in a table.. am v excited to try it out tmr! its juz today thn i knw hw to form crystals ok! i understand nw why tht time whn me n yuanyi mke the ammonia crystals doesnt hve anything on th dish at all! lol! basically we heat it until all the solution gone! haha.. we should hve heated it awhile thn let it cool..though water is still present, eventual evaporation will mke it concentrated and tht forms the saturated solution! saturated..lol! i finally understand wht it means! its the condition where crystals form easily, through eventual cooling lah.. haha..
super-saturated solutions are realli amazing lor! OMG! shall try it tmr if the lab assist thre v tolerant abt my excitement!haha, its cz whn u put a seed crystal on the solution itself, the solution will turn into crystal in no time! its reali amazing! wont form any unique shape though cz it will tke the shape of its container! lol! bt its sth like frost leh! so cool!! haha.. omg, cnt believe i gt th opportunity to improve my chem prcticals..this will help me alot!haha, im so curious nw,, if which experiment will produce the most beautiful crystal of all?! lol! bt i knw i must be careful cz its highly toxic, so i cnnot touch!haha.. hmm.. rectangular prism is nt realli as fascinating though bt the substance given produce tht kind of type lah.. alum is the best bcz of its pyramid-shaped crystal result! bt thn the competition set potassium dichromate instead..like so plain leh.. its rectangular shaped only..bt thn, i hope we cn grow the crystal as big as my arm!lol!, bt we hve little time only left leh.. sep 25 will be presenting alr..wonder how big our crystal will grow..?
