MYE will end soon! v happy! :) anw,, today's paper ws chemistry.. hmmm... overall the paper ws quite so-so.., so, ok lah.. bt the 1st ques. in sec. c is am reali nt sure.. 1st thing is i add water to form solution.. i knw tht barium sulphate is insoluble (rmb frm bases wrksheet solubility in water) so i do filtration 1st.. the residue was barium sulphate.. nxt thing is the solution of Ca(CO3)2 and Iodine.. i retrieved iodine frst by sublimation.. heat the solution in a container wif damp cloth at the top of the container.. (i knw its risky deh, cz the cloth might be burned if heating continues..bt no choice, i dunno elese wht to do leh..haha, anyhow deh) aftr awhile, iodine crystals? shud be formed..haha thts wht i wrote.. bt i juz realized am wrong alr..its cz sublimation is frm solid to gas leh.. thn mine gt involved in liquid state! haha!, thn nxt ws the Ca(CO3)2.. heating shud be continued until it is 'saturated' haha! dunno reali wht it is.. thn let it cool for awhile.. evaporate to dryness and solid calcium crbonate shud be the result..

haha..the sequence is nt reali right.. hmm.. iodine is to be retrieved frst as it sublimes.. aftr tht thn add water to Ba2SO4 and Ca(CO3)2,, Ba2SO4 is insoluble so cn be retrieved by filtration and lastly Ca(CO3)2 by crystallization?or mybe evaporating to dryness..
